Just a little aside that's been on my mind today: I just went to Australia and New Zealand as a cameraman for the band NOFX. If you aren't familiar NOFX is a punk band that is very... well, Blink 182 is the Disney version of NOFX. Straight forward punk with plenty of fart jokes, pineing for lesbians and anti-Bush sentiment. This appeals strongly to a certain kind of person. So I was in Australia spending my mornings in nice hotels (rock stars...psssh) and my nights at NOFX shows which are basically 1000 drunk 18 year old boys. Then we went over to New Zealand where I had 2 out of the 4 days off; so I got ot tool around check out Wellington and Aukland.

And now when people ask me how Australia was I say, "It was an entire country of San Diego. Nice hotels, pretty white people who are drunk and wear flip flops-- New Zealand though, was pretty cool. Ecclectic, diverse, cool."

Which makes me wonder: Was that actually an accurate report or is it just that that's all I saw in Australia becasue I was working and got to see cool peoplein New Zealand becasue I wasn't working and got to get away from the venue?

Why is this realated to comcs? Well is it that all comics fans look like the bad stereo-typical fan-boys or is it just that only the fan boys have the time to make it out and be visible in the shops and on-line while the rest of the normal-types just grab their books and head out because they have something else to do?
