WORLD-FAMOUS RETAIL STORE STARTS A CHARITY FOUNDATION TO HELP PRESERVE AND SHOWCASE COMIC BOOKS AND ART FOR THE AGES

The Liebowitz Family, owners of the world-famous Golden Apple Comics, “Comic Shop to the Stars” in Los Angeles, CA for over four decades have just formed a new 501-(c)(3) charitable organization. The mission of the Golden Apple Comic & Art Foundation is to preserve, safeguard and showcase private collections to ensure that comics, books, art and collectibles are secured for future generations to enjoy.
“We realized an immediate need to ensure that the comic book artform and collectibles will be around forever to inspire people from all over the world” Ryan Liebowitz, Foundation President
In addition to curating private collections on behalf of donors, the Foundation has many other activities planned for the future will that include:
Working with Special Collection departments at Universities, domestic & international mobile museums, school lectures, fundraising auctions, comic industry scholarships, convention programming, original art preservation and events to raise awareness and funds.
Alongside family members (Ryan, Kendra & Sharon Liebowitz) the initial company board is comprised of these outstanding individuals:

The Foundation already has it’s first large donation and we are working with the special collections division at the famed University of Pennsylvania to secure, catalog and house these prized possessions. More details to come.
Also, they have their first live fundraising event is coming up on March 25th: A charity film screening with legendary creator Frank Miller in Arizona of the new documentary film Frank Miller: American Genius.
