How To Use Golden Apple Comics Combined Shipping Options And Save Money

Golden Apple Comics Combined Shipping

Golden Apple Comics offers buyers a combined shipping cost option across multiple orders.  Our combined shipping option allows you to add additional orders with free shipping.

How does Golden Apple Comics combined shipping work?  You pay our standard shipping on your first order.  On orders after that you can select our combined shipping option to combine your orders and get free shipping.

When you select combined shipping, shipping times will vary based on the number of books, the final release date for an order, and frequency of orders.

What is the minimum order for combined shipping?

If you want to qualify for free combined shipping on your orders you need to order a minimum of 20 - 25 books each month.

In our experience combined shipping works best for buyers ordering a minimum of 20 books.  With 20 books your total order should hit our minimum dollar threshold for free shipping every 4 – 6 weeks. Delays by the distributor or publisher may delay your shipment.

If you are ordering less than 20 books a month we recommend paying for shipping as it will take a lot longer to meet our minimum requirements to have your order shipped for free. Another option is you can place 1 order with shipping paid, and then chose combined shipping on subsequent orders for the month.  We want to make sure your orders are getting shipped regularly.

How often will my books ship when using combined shipping?

Most of our buyers placing regular orders, receive books every 3 – 6 weeks.

Will a shipping charge be assessed for each shipment?  Yes, but we do waive shipping charges at our discretion based on purchases that would qualify for free shipping.  Many orders over $100 qualify for free shipping.  For single orders or combined orders under $100, standard shipping rates will apply.  We will invoice you if you do not qualify for free shipping.

For combined orders $100 is the minimum to qualify for a free shipment. Note that we do not ship orders every time you hit $100 if you are selecting combined shipping.  Combined orders are shipped approximately every 3 – 6 weeks as the books pile up with weekly releases.  We decide when the orders will ship in most cases, its more work for us and the service is designed to help you save money.

Can I pay for shipping to have my combined orders shipped sooner?  Yes, you can do this.

If I keep placing orders with combined shipping doesn’t that mean my books will never ship? No, your books will ship as they pile up. If you are regularly placing orders with combined shipping, we will be pulling your books each week with new releases.  As your stack of books gets bigger, we start determining the best time to ship.  Continued ordering of each weeks new releases will lead to more frequent shipments, not less because the books will pile up faster.

Will orders with multiple release dates and combined shipping be split or do I need to wait for all of the books to be released?   In most cases they will be split.  When we do a shipment we will ship all available books, including books from orders that are not completely ready to fill.

When will in store pick up orders be available? In most cases they are available within 48 hrs of fulfillment.  We will email you and let you know when we are preparing to drop the orders off.  Weekly new releases will be dropped off on the week of release on Wednesday. We will partially fulfill your in-store pick-ups so you do not need to wait for the entire order to be available to receive items from your order.

How long will you hold my in store pick up order?  We are happy to hold the order for as long as you need to pick it up.  If you can’t pick it up for an extended period of time please let us know.  If you decide you need it shipped instead email us.

Any exceptions to the shipping policy stated? Free and flat rate shipping options are not valid for orders placed after FOC for in stock items that we determine are solely for the purpose of speculation or resale.  Purchases of 3 or more copies of the same book after FOC may be subject to full shipping charges and/or cancellations.  Orders placed prior to FOC for multiple copies are not subject to this.

Here’s are some examples to help you better understand combined shipping:

The buyer places 1 order with a single shipping charge.  The order contains books to be released 4 weeks from the purchase date.  The buyer adds an additional order with more books to be released around the same time period as the previous order.  Once all of the books are available, this order will ship.

Adding to the example above, the buyer places a third order with books coming out 6 weeks from the purchase date. Then the buyer places a fourth order 8 weeks out and a fifth order 10 weeks out.  In this case we might split the shipments.  The first shipment would be sent after 4 weeks, the second after 10 weeks.

Sometimes single orders contain books released on multiple dates.  We may split and partially fulfill these orders.

Here’s an example:  The buyer makes 4 orders for 100 books total.  Each order contains books released over a 3-month period:

  • Order 1 contains books released on 10/31/2018, 12/5/2018, 12/12/2018, 01/09/2019, and 01/30/2019
  • Order 2 contains books released on 10/31/2018, 11/14/2018, 11/21/2018, 12/12/2018, and 12/19/2018
  • Order 3 contains books released on 11/07/2018
  • Order 4 contains books released on 10/31/2018, 12/12/2018, and 01/30/2019

In this example, let’s say the orders would qualify for free shipping on 2 packages.  We might split these 4 orders up so that the first package ships on 12/12/2018 and the second package ships on 01/30/2019.  If the buyer keeps adding orders, we will ship at regular intervals based on the number of books ordered.

Using the same example, let’s say the buyer does not qualify for free shipping on each shipment and pays for shipping on all 4 orders. We may still partially fulfill these orders at our discretion to get the buyer more books sooner.  Rather than having the buyer wait for all of the books contained in order 1, we would ship available books from orders 1, 2, 3, and 4 on 11/07, make a second shipment on 12/19, and a third shipment on 01/30.  A partial refund on shipping may also apply if the orders qualify.

If you are using our combined shipping but need some of the books sooner than the next package would be sent, you can pay an additional shipping charge and we will add another package.
